LEGO Ninjago: Masters of Spinjitzu Episode 24 Review

SEASON 2 EPISODE 24: THE LAST HOPE

We open with Lord Garmadon at the doomsday clock.

Overlord: The clock is only hours away… from finishing its countdown… to the final battle between good and evil Garmadon…. Why so sad?

Lord Garmadon: M-me? Hah, nonsense. I couldn’t be happier! It’s just…

Overlord: Lloyd

Garmadon: I still have to battle my son? In order to transform Ninjago into my image?

Overlord: Battle… and defeat! If evil is to prevail…

Me: Poor guy.

SEASON 2 EPISODE 23: ISLAND OF DARKNESS

As the episode opens, we find our heroes have reached the Dark Island, and have hidden the airship from the patrolling stone army. Cole complains about having to keep a low profile; he’d rather fight the creatures. However, everyone reminds him they can do literally nothing to stop the things. That’s why they’re here, to find the temple of light and a way to destroy the invincible warriors.

Misako: Here it is written, ‘For once the green ninja finds the instrument of peace, he will strike it, and know the power of the Ultimate Spinjitzu Master’.

Lloyd: Ultimate Spinjitzu Master?

Misako: It means you will be able to invoke the power of the golden dragon, an ancient fighting style only practiced by the First Spinjitzu Master.

Lloyd: –Smirks at the other guys– Hahaha. Jealous?

Me: D’aw, Lloyd’s still kind of a brat.

SEASON 2 EPISODE 22: THE LAST VOYAGE

The episode opens with Zane and Sensei Wu observing the Dark Island from the shore of Ninjago. It wasn’t there before, and now –poof– there it is. Stranger still, the stone army that sacked the city last episode has vanished. Zane wonders if Lord Garmadon has anything to do with it, and Sensei is like ‘Yeah, probably.’ So, they send the falcon off to check out the island.

SEASON 2 EPISODE 21: THE DAY NINJAGO STOOD STILL

We open with the Serpentine crowning Skales in the city of Oroboros. He’s uniting them to rise up against the humans, kind of like Pythor did back in season one, only Skales wants them to rely on their own power, rather than leave the deed to some unknown, uncontrollable force. His plan is to burrow under Ninjago City and burry it.

Next, we check in with the ninja. Guess what they’re doing? Go on, guess. If you guessed training Lloyd, then you’re right! Well, at least it wasn’t the very opening scene this time. Dareth comes in to ask them to keep the damage to a minimum today, he has a class later. (Uhg… he’s back. We always go for an episode or so without seeing him, I forget about him, and then bam! He comes back) Of course, the training proceeds to be as destructive as possible.

The camera pans up to the airship, which is parked on the roof. (Why aren’t they training in here? I don’t like Dareth, but it’s still kinda mean to destroy his dojo if they don’t have to) Sensei Wu pulls out an old picture from under his hat and looks at it sadly.

Well… isn’t THAT interesting?
